Our little man turned 1 month old today. He is growing so fast, every day I see something new or he is trying something different. It has been a rough 5 days though. Wednesday I started to feel bad. I had a runny nose and felt like I had a little bit of fever. Then Wednesday night Collin got really fussy. We stayed up all night trying to keep him happy and calm. All he wanted to do was sleep on our chest. I thought he had a fever too, and of course this first time mommy had no idea what to do. I ran to Walgreens to get medicine. But then when I go home he calmed down and didn't have a fever. But he sounded so congested, I felt so bad for him. So then on Thursday my mom came to help me. We took Collin to the doctor and she said he had some kind of virus. That he probably got it from me. She wanted to put him on Amoxicillin and to make sure we kept him propped up not to let him lay flat. They also weighed him and he is 10lbs 2oz. He has gained 2lbs in four weeks. So as soon as we got his medicine then it was time for me to go to the Dr. And sure enough I had a upper respiratory infection. My doctor put me on amoxicillin too and some nasal spray. Thursday night was a lot better and Friday we both seemed to be doing better the medicine seems to be doing the trick. I still feel bad for him you can hear how congested he still is. I hate sucking all the mucus out of his nose. He cries so hard. But each day is better.
So now for today we had a great morning and this afternoon we went to Sears to take 1 month old pictures. They did a great job there with him. The pictures are cute, we just don't get them until Nov 11th. On Monday they said they will send me a link so at least you can view them on the web. We dressed him in a little baseball outfit.
So we are still breastfeeding and supplementing with a bottle. He is drinking 3oz with the bottle and we are feeding about every 2 and half hours. And at night every 3 hours. He is sleeping about every 3 hours too.
That's our update for the week, hope everyone has a great weekend and a Happy Halloween. Cant wait to see all the pics of the little ones in their costumes. Here are some photos from the week.
